hello

latiasWelcome to "Elegence", a one-page shrine dedicated to the Pokemon Latias from the Pokemon video game series found on various Nintendo consoles. The title Elegence was decided because of how Latias loves to transform into a human girl during the movie, Pokemon Heroes. She had such elegence when she was in her human form that I thought the name fit perfectly.

Elegence is part of the One Page, One Month Event hosted by Amassment. This little site is also listed at Evolution, my pokemon collection and Shattered Memories, my collective domain.

Basic Information

Latias is a dragon pokemon that appears to look like a jet with jet-plane wings and fin-like feet. She has an aerodynamic body and glass-like down feathers. Majority of her body is red and white. However, there is a blue triangle located on her chest. When she flies, she is able to tuck in her arms. Latias is only the female one while Latios is the male counterpart.

Latias ruffles her feathers and cry loudly when there is hostility toward it. Latias' downy feathers can enfold her body and refract light, which allows her to become invisible or alter her appearance. Her signature move is Mist Ball. She is highly intelligent and can understand human speech. She is capable using telepathy to communicate with others. In the fifth movie, Latias had the ability "Sight Sharing", which allowed Latias and people around her to see exactly what Latios was seeing. She normally does not make contact with humans or other Pokemon, and disappears when an enemy is nearby. she forms herds with several members, and is usually found near water.

Pokemon Heroes

Pokemon Heroes is the 5th movie for the Pokemon series. This movie was also the debut of Latias and her brother Latios. Ash, Misty, and Brock were visiting the island Alto Mare. Latias first notices Ash when she is invinsible. She saves him from crashing into a wall. However, Ash doesn't know it is her yet.

Later, he sees a girl being attacked by two Pokemon. Ash saves the girl and both run away, leading him back to his friends. Ash first gets confused especially when he sees the girl in the museum. However, she explains that she doesn't know him. After walking a bit, he runs into her again and starts to follow. A beautiful garden is where the girl leads. She starts playing with Ash when Latios starts attacking. The girl steps in the way to protect Ash when the same girl from before arrives. Both Latias and her look the same. Ash learns the girl's name is Bianca and that Latias likes to take Bianca's form. Ash enjoys his time with both Bianca, Bianca grandfather, Latios, and Latias.

The movie goes on about how two girls still a precious stone that causes trouble for the city. Latios is captured forcing Latias to find help. Misty and Brock finally meet Latias but first in Bianca's form before switching back. The movie ends with Latios sacrificing himself to save the city leaving Latias, Bianca, and Bianca's Grandfather with a new Soul Dew. The most curious part of the movie happens to be when Ash and his friends are leaving the city. Bianca runs to Ash and hands him a picture, but leans over and kiss him on the cheek before running off. No one is sure if it Bianca because it could be Latias too since Latias takes Bianca's form. The only person who knows the truth is Ash, and well, he never said anything. He just smiled.

Why Latias?

Latias was a Pokemon that I was introduced to when I watch Pokemon Heroes. I fell in love with her right away. She was different than other Pokemons. She grew to like Ash, but she was also able to take a human form. Latias is a unique pokemon. She is one of my favorite fantasy creatures: a dragon. Her colors and design is so gentle especially in her eyes. I felt sorry for Latias in the movie for she lost her brother. To see so much emotions in her eyes, it brought me to tears. I don't think there is a Pokemon yet that I haven't felt so much sadness from.

"Elegence" was made in Photoshop CS and coded in Notepad. This is Version 1, and there is no title. The images were found on Google while the textures were images I had laying around on my computer.
